Um Rio

The animated short film "A River" presents, in a playful and didactic way, the quintessential story of many of rivers around the world. In São Paulo, Brazil, for example, hundreds of streams – which make up a 1500 kilometer hydrography - were exiled from view, channelled underground to make way for construction in the ever-growing city. Driven by the automobile industry and construction companies, over the last century 90% of our rivers and streams have disappeared. Contrary to popular belief, these streams and rivers are still alive because you cannot kill a river. The goal of this short film is to sensitize children, who are in critical moment of ideological development, with the aim of preventing errors of our past being repeated in their future.
